Moonraker Relays 2017
at Dinton Park on 3 July 2017
The format was an age-class related handicap relay for teams of 3 people. There were 4 different courses: Butterfly 1.4 km, 'Long' 2.0 km, Snail 1.8 km, and Mini Score 1.6 km minimum. Each had to be run twice by different members of the team. Junior teams ran their course three times, one after the other. Wimborne entered 3 Senior teams - WIM Wizards, WIM Whippets & WIM Warriors - and a Junior team, WIM Whippersnappers.
Alan Yeadon (Sarum) reported "Twentyone teams completed the Moonraker Relay team event held at Dinton Park. The runners enjoyed good summer weather and a very pleasant park venue. Three junior teams also completed the Junior course. BOK Raiders finished in first place and BOK Marauders in second place and Wessex Raiders in third place. Wimborne Whippersnappers won the Junior event. Many thanks to the National Trust warden Paul Rowland for his valued support and also to Organiser, Charlotte Thornton and Planner Liz Yeadon for all their work in arranging a successful event."
